Casart Coverings, LLC Creator C. Ashley Spencer
From early on, many of us discover a passion within ourselves – whether it’s creatively or intellectually, or otherwise – a passion that brings us joy and sustainable happiness. What we do with that passion can sometimes be surprising. Interior Designer C. Ashley Spencer took her talents and enthusiasm for all things artistic and combined it with her entrepreneurship skills to create a unique product that turned the wallpapering business upside down.
Casart Coverings, LLC - Casart meaning “art for your home” – was born in January 2009 as a direct result of C. Ashley Spencer gathering 16 years of experience as a mural painter, illustrator and operating her own Faux finishing business. Her desire to bring her talents and business savvy into the Design Industry was a natural progression – one which led her to create a line of wall coverings that not only feature her decorative finishes and murals, but the wallpaper itself is completely repositionable, removable and reusable.
As a Virginia Interior Designer, C. Ashley Spencer’s talents and skills as a artist, designer, decorative finisher, muralist, illustrator and entrepreneur, have been cultivated and achieved through various experiences, including; the National Gallery of Art-Design & Installation Department, the National Gallery of Women in the Arts-Exhibition Design Department, and Scenic Painter at Arena Stage. In addition she has worked for 15 years as a graphic artist and illustrator for Consumers’ Research Magazine, as well as achieving a degree in Art History and Fine Art from the University of the South (Sewanee). Her studies at Parsons in Paris and Corcoran Gallery of Art School in D.C. has also enhanced her artistic background.
With her mother, Lorre Lei Jackson and her sister, Lindsey Wood completing the crew of Casart Coverings, C. Ashley Spencer’s company has taken the design industry by storm with the product’s ease of use and stunning designs – which not only satisfies Interior Design Professionals, but those that prefer a more “do it yourself” approach to Interior Design, as well.
Aptly named “Slipcovers for your walls”, C. Ashley Spencer has brought a new dimension to the term “wallpaper” while showcasing her unbelievable artistic talents in a form that is being admired and awed by the layman and the Design Professional alike.
