How to Use Facebook’s Newly Announced “Send” Button

Facebook SendFacebook, on it’s continual journey to improve its site and its functions, has just announced the release of the new “Send” button. Almost marking the one year anniversary since the “Like” button became the mainstay on 2.5 million websites, the “Send” button takes “Liking” a page one step further by allowing users to share – or broadcast, if you will – select information from the web to pass on to anyone you choose.

What is the “Send” button?

This social plug-in is similar to the “Like” button – whereas when you “Like” a page you are sharing that information with friends of yours that view it on your “wall”. However; with the innovation of the “Send” button, you can now specify individual people whom you’d like to share said information. In essence, it’s “privatizing” sharing!

It gets better … not only can you select certain people to view this new found information that you’d like to share, but you have a choice as how to do it as the content can be sent via Facebook Message, Email or even posted into a specific Facebook groups’ wall.

Facebook Send Button

This means some very exciting advantages for those using Facebook to market their designing business. In addition to the new Facebook Questions Tool, the implications of this “Send” button is going to be astronomical for growing your fan base – not to mention your customer base! It means you’ll be able to cater to your clients – not only as a group that participates on your “wall” – but on an individual basis where you can connect and share ideas, as well as products or services that are pertinent to that specific client.

For instance; you have a client, or a small group of clients, that are interested in the latest fashion trends in Window Treatments. With the addition of the “Send” button you can immediately share information you’ve run across that might benefit these clients specifically. Or perhaps you want to reach a few individual people who would be interested in knowing more about exactly What an Interior Designer Can Offer them? By utilizing the “Send” button you can direct those particular people to links to your portfolio, your website, your blog, or even an article that was published about you and your company right here on InteriorDesignPro.

Taking advantage of the “Send” button not only targets specific fans and clients, it also allows you to keep “non-essential” information off your “wall” that just doesn’t pertain to everybody else. This means that content that is relevant to everyone can be on your fan page (wall) and more specific information can be sent to others. The possibilities are endless … and extremely rewarding!

Facebook is Your Friend!

At the time of this writing, Facebook is doing a test launch before it releases the new “Send” button to its ever growing base of fans. However, by introducing this new feature Facebook is quickly positioning itself to become an Interior Designer’s best friend – and whom better to help you promote your business than your best friend?
