About Kathy Sterling

Growing up as the oldest of 8 children in a family of flooring covering professionals, gave me the footing for my career in interior decorating. I remember as a small child gushing over the beautiful colors available in the flooring products in my father's store. I was destined to love design.

When I choose the field of Interior Design for my course of study, I had no idea the road would be a rewarding as well as fullfilling career. I have a passion for color, texture and products that improve our lives and enjoyment of our homes. I get excited when I see my clients smile as they watch their homes transform. I can't imagine doing anything else.

I also never realized that working in the home design industry had so many aspects. Flooring is a natural to me, but as my talents grew, so did my desire to do more in my choosen field. I have worked in the construction part of the business rehabing homes, businesses and apartments. I have done consulting on homes of all size and prices and love each and everyone of them.

Since I grew up in a large family, I was blessed with negotiating skills as well as people skills and have acted as a mediator in many a project. I have managed all types of projects and fell my strong points are working with clients to bring their vision to life. I love color and am not afraid to use it, my motto...it is only paint and a Saturday afternoon, if you don't like it.

Sterling Services has selected everything from a simple paint color, to furnishing entire homes. We even redecorated a ladies home when she traveled to Europe for the summer, as a surprise from her husband. We choose colors, appliances, fixtures for a client living abroad and sent her frequent photos of her home being built from the slab to completion...she was very pleased with her new home.
