About Jan Strickland

Jan Strickland discovered her love for Interior Design at a young age. When she was in elementary school she traveled abroad with her family and was constantly amazed by the beauty of the castles, homes and museums in several different countries around the world. In High School, her love for Interior Design continued to grow as she designed interiors in her hometown in Louisiana including a movie room and a law office along with condos located on the Gulf Coast of Alabama.

When deciding what to major in at College, that was a no brainer. Jan majored in Interior Design at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and graduated in 2010. While in College, Jan worked alongside several top Designers in Tuscaloosa and Foley, AL. Gaining experience and knowledge in Interior Design while in College helped prepare her for her role as a professional.

Jan became Allied ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). Shortly after graduation Jan founded Jan Hales Designs offering Interior Design Services in Alabama and Louisiana along with working as a kitchen designer in Birmingham, AL. She changed the name of Jan Hales Designs to Strickland Interiors to incorporate her married name into her business.
