About J. Rhodes Interior Design
Jennifer Rhodes Mendelsohn, ASID, principal interior designer of our firm, is a Charleston native and graduate of Winthrop University. She holds a B.F.A. in Interior Design and has been practicing interior design since 1992. She is a ASID professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, having passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam in 1996. She has been designing homes for 18 years with projects around the Charleston area including Kiawah Island and Daniel Island.
Her work has been published in Carolina Architecture and Design, Charleston Home + Design, Woman's World, Charleston Home Design, Today's Custom Home and the Lowcountry Living supplement in the Post and Courier. In 1999 she was awarded the CCASID Design Specialty Award for her room the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League ASID Designer Showhouse. She has held several positions in the ASID Carolinas Chapter, including Coastal Association Board Rep, Ethics and Appellation Chair, Showhouse Designer Liaison and Awards committee chair. In 2009 she was recognized by Charleston Home + Design Magazine as a most influential designer and in 2007 was honored by the Charleston Regional Business Journal with the 40 under 40 Award.
