About Margaret Taylor Custom Decorating
In 1987 my career in interior design began with Trans Designs. It was on the job training plus classroom instruction. We were taught how to design a room. During my 2 years with the company we did two show houses, home shows (did tv interview on one) 1 Bed and Breakfast and had seminars with their top designers.
In 1989 Margaret Taylor Custom Decorating was begun. It was then that I developed my niche, window treatments and fabrics and having my own workroom. This came about due to a connection with condo's on Lake Michigan. They wanted their windows to all be white to the outside. So windows is what I did as a start to each project. One large project was a boathouse, we matched the interior with the color of the boat parked outside of it. Also we contracted an artist to create a scene of the beach and harbor on the only wall that had no window on it. As part of continuing education I have attended many seminars and work shops throught the years always keeping informed about new trends. The Chicago Merchandise Mart is a great place to keep up with interior design, they have many events scheduled to keep us current on the design front. Window Fashions Certified Professional Program is ongoing training in my niche area. Through out the years I have had the opportunity to work with many clients who all have had dreams of spectacular and fabulous rooms and I helped them make their dreams come true. By hiring a designer you are making sure that your decorating project will be completed with in a specified time period, it will done with the budget you specify, and it will look amazing.
This sunroom has a 4 sided bay configuration with a sliding door on each wall. The top treatment is all one piece to show the fabrics design. Notice that the fabrics used all coordinate.Read more »
